Pre-compiled Freewheeling binaries are available for several of today's most popular operating systems. If you prefer using your favorite graphical package manager (such as synaptic) or your distro's Add/Remove Software Control Panel, just search for and install the package named freewheeling or fweelin. NOTE: you may need to configure Third-Party Repositories
- Install with of of the OS Specific Installers - (recommended) Current version v0.6-1
- Freewheeling Source Package (requires compiling)
- Download a tarball - (requires compiling) Current version v0.6
- or, checkout the latest svn snapshot - (requires compiling) Latest version v0.6.1 - SVN

NOTE: You'll also need jackd and a way to configure it (like qjackctl). To get qjackctl and freewheeling running, you may also have to do:
sudo modprobe snd-seq-oss
NOTE: the jackd meta-package in the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick repos installs jack2 v1.9.5 but jack1 v0.118 appears to be available also if your prefer (i suspect some apps may require this) TODO: (is it true that some apps will not run correctly on jack2?)
